The 69th Yatsugatake Mountain Opening Festival will be held as planned at 12:00pm in two locations. The southern venue will be at the peak of Mt. Aka, and the northern venue will be at the peak of Mt. Kitayokodake.

The 69th Yatsugatake Mountain Opening Festival will be held for the first time in four years to pray for the safety of Yatsugatake and its climbers this season.

Place:
Southern Yatsugatake Venue: The peak of Mt. Aka (in case of inclement weather, in front of the traveller’s hut)
Northern Yatsugatake Venue: The peak of Mt. Kitayokodake (in case of inclement weather, at the plaza in front of the Kita-Yatsugatake Ropeway Station)

Commemorative gift

• After the ceremony, participants will be presented with a commemorative badge and a talisman from Mt. Aka Shrine.
• The number of badges is limited. Please understand in advance that the badges may not be given to all participants because they will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other Considerations

• Please note that the organizer cannot be held responsible for the climb up to the the rituals or venue. Please purchase hiking insurance and submit a hiking notice by yourself.
• In the event of inclement weather on the day of the event, a decision will be made at 6:00am on June 4 regarding a change of venue, etc., and notification will be made via the website, etc.
