This is one of the seven public bathhouses run directly by the city.
The spring source called Shiotsubo, which means salt pressure point in Japanese, has been known since the Edo period for its beneficial properties. Among other things, it's said to have a prolonged warming effect.
Thanks to its strategic position along the Venus Line, on the way to Tateshina and Kurumayama, the access is great when coming by car. The surrounding pastoral scenery is also quite idyllic.
