Hikusugi-an

The teahouse built too low

Hikusugi-an is the latest entry to the teahouse series of Suwa area.
Partly dug into the ground, the building resembles a pit-house from the Jomon period (Japanese stone-age).

A few steps away from Hikusugi-an you will find Takasugi-an (the teahouse built too high) and the Flying Mud Boat teahouse. * The teahouses are private property and entrance is permitted only during certain tours and events.
