One of the most distinctive products in the local gastronomic scene is horse meat (or sakura as it is cutely nicknamed in Japanese). People in the Suwa area have been consuming it for centuries, especially in the form of sukiyaki (a traditional hot pot seasoned with soy sauce, sugar, and mirin). Besides the iconic sukiyaki, the restaurant serves a vast selection of horse meat dishes such as basashi (raw horse meat) and steaks.
They also have a wide choice of vegetable side dishes made with locally grown ingredients.
