Japan’s highest located open air bath uses a hot spring from the Iodake Craters Yu river. At 2150m in altitude, this is a secluded hot spring called “Honzawa Onsen Unjo no yu” or “Honzawa Onsen, a bath above the clouds”. The lodge is located in the deep green of mixed plants like Hakusan Rhododendron plant, Veitch’s silver-fir, Northern Japanese Hemlock, and the secluded hot spring in nature takes over an 1 hour from the gate during the summer, and over 4 hours from the foot of the mountain during the winter while hiking. The Honsawa onsen area during the fall season if absolutely splendid.
There is a designated camp ground for tents.
