Sawaemon is a high-end Japanese inn perched in the foothills of Mount Yashigamine above Lake Shirakaba.
The intimate lodging has only eight rooms, some of which feature a king-size bed, a sunken kotatsu heated table, and a private hot spring bath.
The accommodation command a view of the surrounding mountains and the valley below. From the private-use outdoor bath, you can admire Mt. Tateshina and the Kirigamine Plateau.
Besides the open-air bath, the inn also includes a stone sauna (said to promote health and beauty), three different indoor baths.
Dining is also a strong point of this establishment. Here, you can try their original duck hot pot and traditional course meals inspired by the local rural cuisine, all accompanied by local sake.
