This lovely café is located on the way to the ancient sanctuary of Suwa Taisha. Run by a local stonemason’s wife, this establishment offers tea accompanied by delicious local treats such as homemade colorful agar cakes (tenyose), Japanese pickles, sweet bean buns, and other sweets.

Kameishi is definitely worth a visit, even just for the view of the splendid inner garden facing the tea room.
