Get on the mountain lift and in 15 minutes ascend to the summit of Mt. Kurumayama at 1,925m of elevation. From the top you will have an unhindered 360-degree view of the three ranges of the Alps, the Yatsugatake Mountains, Mt. Asama and more. The scenery from the observation spot is truly superb and on Sundays and festivities the lift starts running before dawn so you can see the sun rising from behind the mountains. If you are lucky, you might see a sea of clouds engulfing the valley beneath.
In the summer, the gentle grassy hills which form the Kirigamine plateau are covered by clusters of brightly colored alpine flowers, such as yellow day lilies and red azaleas. In winter, the mountain slopes are turned into a ski resort.
